Marrakech to the Dadès
Pickup at your riad in Marrakech. Over the High Atlas, down the Ounila Valley and its kasbahs, Aït Ben Haddou and Ouarzazate, to the Dadès Gorge. Night: Dadès.
- Dadès Gorge → Merzouga
To the Erg Chebbi
The Monkey Fingers rocks, date and fig oases, an old irrigation system and the fossil houses, then camels to the Erg Chebbi dunes and a night in camp. Night: Desert camp, Merzouga.
- Merzouga → Fès
On to Fès
Sunrise over the dunes, then north through the Middle Atlas and its cedar forest, where the Barbary macaques live, to Fès.
