Private driver from Casablanca to Fès

Both waysSame price
Distance295 km
DriveAbout 3 h 30
Per car, from€180

A private driver from Casablanca to Fès (Fez) covers the 295 km in about 3 h 30, door to door, in your own car with an English-speaking driver. You pay one fixed price for the car, from €180, agreed before you travel. The drive from Fès back to Casablanca costs the same.

The road passes Rabat and Meknès, so the drive can also be a day of visits, with a detour to the Roman ruins of Volubilis if you like. From Mohammed V airport, Fès is about 315 km, about 3 h 45.

Private driver or train?

There is no high-speed train to Fès. Al Boraq runs only between Casablanca, Rabat, Kenitra and Tangier, so the train to Fès is the regular Al Atlas line: about four hours from Casa‑Voyageurs.

Train fares and times are ONCF's for October 2026: 2nd class, flexible ticket, 18 direct trains a day. Booked weeks ahead, a ticket you cannot change or refund can cost about 50 MAD. The coach fares are CTM's, from its booking site on the same day; the grand taxi fares come from travel guides.

For one or two people travelling light from central Casablanca, the train is the cheaper choice. The car is worth its price when:

  • you land at Mohammed V: by train you change at Casa‑Voyageurs and spend about 5 h 30 on the way, against about 3 h 45 by car;
  • you are three or more, or travel with luggage or children: the price is per car, so it is shared;
  • you are staying in the medina: the train stops at Fès station, and you still need a taxi to the gate, while the car takes you to the gate nearest your riad;
  • you want to see Rabat, Meknès or Volubilis on the way.

Royal Air Maroc also flies from Mohammed V to Fès‑Saïss, usually once a day, in about 1 h 10. It suits a connection from an international flight more than a trip from the city.

From Mohammed V airport to Fès

Mohammed V airport is south of Casablanca. By car you skip the city: the road goes round it and north to Rabat, about 315 km to Fès, about 3 h 45.

Add your flight number when you book. We follow the flight, and if it lands late we wait, with nothing added to the price. Your driver meets you in the arrivals hall with your name on a sign and takes the bags to the car. We confirm the price from the airport on WhatsApp when you book.

By train you would change at Casa‑Voyageurs: about 5 h 30 from the airport to Fès, including a wait of about 50 minutes, for 225 MAD in 2nd class (October 2026). The last connection leaves the airport around 19:00 and reaches Fès just after midnight.

Stops on the way: Rabat, Meknès, Volubilis

Short stops for a coffee or a photo are part of the drive: ask for them when you book. A visit makes the day longer, so plan it with us.

Rabat is on the way, about 1 h 15 from Casablanca. The Hassan Tower and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V stand side by side; allow an hour for both, or walk up to the Kasbah of the Udayas above the river mouth.

Meknès is next to the motorway, about an hour before Fès. Its old town, the city of Sultan Moulay Ismail, has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996, and driving in to see the Bab Mansour gate adds about 20 minutes, plus your visit.

Volubilis is further off the road: the ruins of a Roman town about 30 km north of Meknès, on UNESCO's list since 1997. The detour adds about 1 h 30 of driving, and the visit usually takes 1 to 2 hours. The hill town of Moulay Idriss is a few minutes away.

With a visit of Volubilis, leave Casablanca in the morning to reach Fès before dark. Tell us the stops you want when you book, and we confirm the plan and the price on WhatsApp.

Arriving in Fès

Fès has a new town, built in the 20th century, with wide streets: there we drive to the door of your hotel. The medina, Fès el-Bali, is a maze of lanes where cars cannot go. Give us the name of your riad and we tell you the nearest gate before the day, Bab Boujloud, Bab Guissa or another; many riads send someone to meet you there and carry the bags.

Going on from Fès? Chefchaouen is about 200 km north, about 4 h by road, and the Sahara at Merzouga about 460 km south-east through Ifrane and Midelt. Our tours from Casablanca take in both, with the same driver from start to finish.

Fès to Casablanca, or to the airport for a flight

The drive back costs the same. Choose "Fès → Casablanca" at the top of the form, and give the address in Casablanca where you are going.

Flying out of Mohammed V? Count about 3 h 45 from Fès to the departures hall, then add the time your airline asks you to be at the airport. We agree the pickup time with you when we confirm the booking.

Frequently asked questions

How much is a private driver from Casablanca to Fès?

€180 for the Škoda Superb (up to 3 passengers), €205 for the Ford Tourneo Custom and €235 for the Mercedes-Benz Vito (up to 7). The price is per car, fixed before you travel, and the same from Fès to Casablanca.

How long is the drive from Casablanca to Fès?

About 3 h 30 for the 295 km, a little more at rush hour. From Mohammed V airport, count about 3 h 45 for 315 km. Stops and visits come on top.

Is there a high-speed train from Casablanca to Fez?

No. Al Boraq, the high-speed line, runs only between Casablanca, Rabat, Kenitra and Tangier. To Fès you take the regular Al Atlas trains: 3 h 55 to 4 h 05 from Casa‑Voyageurs, 18 a day in October 2026.

Can you take a train from Casablanca to Fez?

Yes, without a change from Casa‑Voyageurs: 18 trains a day from 06:10 to 22:10 in October 2026, about four hours, 155 to 165 MAD in 2nd class on a flexible ticket, and less if you book weeks ahead. The same line runs the other way, from Fès to Casa‑Voyageurs. From Mohammed V airport you change at Casa‑Voyageurs, and the trip takes about 5 h 30.

How much does it cost to hire a private driver in Morocco?

With Damask, from €120 a day for the Škoda Superb to €180 for the Mercedes-Benz Vito, or a fixed price per drive like this one. See a private driver by the day for what a day includes and how it works.

Can you pick us up at Mohammed V airport?

Yes. Add your flight number when you book: we follow the flight and meet you in the arrivals hall. We confirm the price from the airport on WhatsApp.

Can we stop at Volubilis or Meknès on the way?

Yes. Tell us when you book. A stop at Meknès adds about 20 minutes of driving; Volubilis adds about 1 h 30, plus the time of your visit. We confirm the plan and the price on WhatsApp before you travel.

Can I use Uber in Casablanca?

Yes, since 27 November 2025: Uber came back to Morocco in Casablanca and Marrakech, with licensed tourist-transport operators only (UberX and UberXL). For a drive of about 300 km, a fixed price agreed before you leave is simpler: with us, it covers the whole drive, and your driver meets you at the airport or your hotel.

Is the price per person?

No, per car. Up to 3 passengers in the Škoda Superb, up to 7 in the Tourneo or the Vito. Children count as passengers; child seats are on request.

Is Fès worth visiting? Is it nicer than Marrakech?

Its medina, Fès el-Bali, was Morocco's first UNESCO World Heritage Site, in 1981, four years before the medina of Marrakech. It is also home to Al Quaraouiyine, founded as a mosque between 857 and 859. You do not have to choose: our three days from Marrakech to Fès links the two cities through the Sahara.
