Private transfer from Casablanca to Tangier

Both waysSame price
Distance340 km

Per car, from€200

A private transfer from Casablanca to Tangier covers about 340 km in about 4 hours, in your own car with an English- or French-speaking driver. You pay one fixed price for the car, from €200, agreed before you travel. The drive from Tangier back to Casablanca costs the same.

Landing at Mohammed V airport? Tangier is about 360 km from the arrivals hall, about 4 h 15 by car. Your driver follows your flight and waits for you with your name on a sign.

Prices per car

CarSeats and bagsOne wayReturn trip
Škoda Superb, sedan3 people, 3 large bags€200€400
Ford Tourneo Custom, minivan7 people, 12 large bags€230€460
Mercedes-Benz Vito, van7 people, 7 large bags€260€520

The price is for the car, not for each person. Three friends in the Superb share €200, so about a third of that each, and a family of six with suitcases fits in the Tourneo, which takes 12 large bags. For eight people or more, we send two cars.

The return trip is the same drive the other way, on the day you choose. Tick "Add the return trip" in the form to book both at once.

Private car, train, coach or flight?

Tangier is the one route where the train beats the car on time: Al Boraq, the high-speed line, runs from Casablanca in just over two hours. So here are all the options, with their times and fares.

HowTimePrice
Damask private car, door to doorAbout 4 h, or 4 h 15 from the airport€200 per car, up to 3 people
Al Boraq high-speed train, Casa‑Voyageurs to Tanger-Ville2 h 17270 MAD a person (about €24), 2nd class
Regular train, with a change at Kenitra or Sidi Kacem5 h 25 to 7 h 13165 to 190 MAD (about €15 to €17)
CTM coach, direct4 h 55 to 5 h 50170 MAD (about €15)
Train from Mohammed V, change at Casa‑VoyageursAbout 3 h 20330 MAD a person (about €30)

Train fares and times are ONCF's, and the coach fares are CTM's, both read on the operators' booking sites in October 2026, in 2nd class with a flexible ticket. A ticket you cannot change or refund costs less: booked weeks ahead, we saw 89 to 129 MAD (about €8 to €12) on Al Boraq.

Al Boraq is the fastest way to Tangier for one or two people travelling light from central Casablanca; the coach costs less. On a Thursday in October there were 14 direct trains, from 06:00 to 21:00, with none at 13:00 and none at 20:00; the last one reaches Tangier at 23:17. Sunday times differ. The regular line has no direct train: four a day with a change, and the trip takes anywhere from five and a half to seven hours.

The car is worth its price when:

  • you land at Mohammed V: the train means a change at Casa‑Voyageurs and about 3 h 20 on the way, and the last through connection of the day left the airport at 17:55 in October;
  • you are three or more, or travel with luggage or children: the price is per car, so it is shared;
  • your hotel is far from Tanger-Ville station: the train ends at the station, and you still need a taxi;
  • you want to stop at Rabat or Asilah, or to go straight on to Chefchaouen.

Royal Air Maroc also publishes a Casablanca to Tangier fare page: a return fare from about €209 was shown on 6 October 2026. We did not read the timetable, so check it before counting on a flight.

From Mohammed V airport to Tangier

Mohammed V airport is south of Casablanca, so the road north goes round the city and joins the motorway to Rabat: about 360 km to Tangier, about 4 h 15.

Add your flight number when you book. We follow the flight, and if it lands late we wait, with nothing added to the price. Your driver meets you in the arrivals hall with your name on a sign and takes the bags to the car. We confirm the price from the airport on WhatsApp when you book.

By train, you take the airport train to Casa‑Voyageurs (41 minutes), then Al Boraq: 3 h 22 in all, 330 MAD in 2nd class. The last connection on sale left the airport at 17:55 and reached Tangier at 21:17. If your flight lands later, the car is the simplest way to reach Tangier that night.

Stops on the way: Rabat, Asilah, Cap Spartel

Short stops for a coffee or a photo are part of the drive: ask for them when you book. A visit makes the day longer, so plan it with us.

Rabat is on the way, about 1 h 15 from Casablanca. The Hassan Tower and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V stand side by side; allow an hour for both, or walk up to the Kasbah of the Udayas above the river mouth. See our Casablanca to Rabat transfer.

Asilah is a walled town on the Atlantic, 46 km before Tangier by road. It was Portuguese from 1471 to 1549, and again from 1577 to 1589. Since 1978 it has held an arts festival, and its walls carry new murals every year. A stop there adds about 10 minutes of driving, plus the time you spend in the town.

Cap Spartel and the Caves of Hercules are west of Tangier: the cape is 12 km from the city and the caves 14 km. The lighthouse on the cape was built in 1864 by Sultan Muhammad IV. The caves have an opening onto the sea shaped like the map of Africa. They are a separate outing from the city: tell us which day you want them, and we confirm the plan and the price on WhatsApp. A visit is added to the price, depending on the visit.

Arriving in Tangier

Give us the name of your hotel or riad when you book. If it is in the old medina, we tell you before the day where the car can stop; many riads send someone to meet you there and carry the bags.

Arriving by ferry from Spain? The port of Tanger Med is about 45 km northeast of Tangier. Tell us the ferry, the day and the time, and we confirm on WhatsApp whether we can meet you there, and at what price.

Uber has been running in Tangier since 1 July 2026, with licensed tourist vehicles only. For a 340 km drive, a fixed price agreed before you leave is simpler: with us, it covers the whole drive.

Tangier on foot

Tangier lies on two coasts, the Mediterranean and the Atlantic. The old medina and the newer town are separated by the Grand Socco, a round square whose official name is Place du 9 Avril 1947. Above the medina, the Kasbah Palace (Dar el Makhzen) stands on one of the highest points of the citadel, overlooking the medina and the Strait of Gibraltar. It was built in the early 18th century as the residence of the governor, and has been a museum since 1922, now called the Kasbah Museum of Mediterranean Cultures. In the medina, the American Legation housed the United States diplomatic mission: it was the first American public property abroad, and it is the only U.S. National Historic Landmark in a foreign country.

Going on from Tangier

Chefchaouen is about 112 km from Tangier, about 2 h 05 by road, so the two combine well: a night in Tangier, then the blue town. Our Casablanca to Chefchaouen transfer goes there directly, and our tours from Casablanca include both cities, with the same driver from start to finish. If you start from Tangier, see the 8 days from Tangier and the 9 days from Tangier.

Tangier to Casablanca, or to the airport for a flight

The drive back costs the same. Choose "Tangier → Casablanca" at the top of the form, and give the address in Casablanca where you are going.

Flying out of Mohammed V? Count about 4 h 15 from central Tangier to the departures hall, more at rush hour, then add the time your airline asks you to be at the airport. We agree the pickup time with you when we confirm the booking.

A long drive: what to expect

For a drive of four hours, plan a stop for a coffee and a stretch, and ask for more if you need them. The motorway service areas have cafés and toilets, and lunch on the road is easy to arrange: tell your driver what you like.

  3. On the day, your driver is there with your name on a sign.
