Private transfer from Casablanca to Chefchaouen

A private transfer from Casablanca to Chefchaouen covers about 340 km in about 5 h 30, in your own car with an English- or French-speaking driver. You pay one fixed price for the car, from €250, agreed before you travel. The drive from Chefchaouen back to Casablanca costs the same.

There is no train to Chefchaouen, and it is the longest of our drives from Casablanca. Landing at Mohammed V airport? Chefchaouen is about 360 km from the arrivals hall, about 5 h 30 by car. Your driver follows your flight and waits for you with your name on a sign.

Prices per car

The price is for the car, not for each person. Three friends in the Superb share €250, so about a third of that each, and a family of six with suitcases fits in the Tourneo, which takes 12 large bags. For eight people or more, we send two cars.

No train: car, coach, or train and coach?

Train and coach figures are ONCF's and CTM's, read on their booking sites in October 2026; the train fare is for a flexible 2nd class ticket.

Is there a high-speed train to Chefchaouen? Not all the way. Al Boraq, the high-speed train, stops at Tangier. From there ONCF sells one ticket that includes a Supratours coach to Chefchaouen. On a Thursday in October there were only two such trips a day: Al Boraq at 08:00, then the coach at 10:37, arriving 13:07; and Al Boraq at 18:00, then the coach at 20:37, arriving 23:07. The Supratours coach from Tangier station to Chefchaouen also sells on its own: 2 h 30, 60 MAD (about €5). Booked weeks ahead, a ticket you cannot change or refund cost 189 MAD (about €17).

The direct coach. CTM has one direct coach at 13:30 from one Casablanca station, which takes 6 h 30 and arrives at 20:00, and a second one at 13:45 from another station, in 6 h 15. The other CTM options all change at Tangier, Tétouan or Fès, and take between 8 h 50 and 10 h 35.

A flight. Two travel guides mention Royal Air Maroc flights to Tétouan. We did not check them, so we do not count on one.

The train and coach is the fastest public way; the direct CTM coach costs less but takes about an hour longer. The car is worth its price when:

• you land at Mohammed V: the train means a change at Casa‑Voyageurs first, and the coach options leave from the city;
• you are three or more, or travel with luggage or children: the price is per car, so it is shared;
• you arrive late in the day: only two trains a day connect, the last one reaching Chefchaouen at 23:07;
• you want to stop at Rabat or Ouezzane on the way.

Chefchaouen in a day from Casablanca?

The drive is about 5 h 20 each way without stops, so a day trip means more than 10 hours on the road for the round trip. We suggest at least one night. If you can only go for a day, tell us the day and the time you want to be back, and we confirm the plan and the price on WhatsApp. A visit is added to the price, depending on the visit.

To arrive in the afternoon, leave Casablanca by about 11:00. For a coffee in Rabat, add a few minutes to the drive.

From Mohammed V airport to Chefchaouen

Mohammed V airport is south of Casablanca, so the road north goes round the city and joins the motorway to Rabat: about 360 km to Chefchaouen, about 5 h 30.

Add your flight number when you book. We follow the flight, and if it lands late we wait, with nothing added to the price. Your driver meets you in the arrivals hall with your name on a sign and takes the bags to the car. We confirm the price from the airport on WhatsApp when you book.

By public transport from the airport, you take the airport train to Casa‑Voyageurs, then Al Boraq to Tangier and the Supratours coach. That is possible only if your flight lands early enough to catch the 08:00 or the 18:00 Al Boraq, and the coach after it.

Stops on the way: Rabat, Ouezzane, Volubilis

Short stops for a coffee or a photo are part of the drive: ask for them when you book. A visit makes the day longer, so plan it with us.

Rabat is on the way, about 1 h 15 from Casablanca. Stopping there adds only a few minutes to the drive. The Hassan Tower and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V stand side by side; allow an hour for both. See our Casablanca to Rabat transfer.

Ouezzane is a hill town on the road, 273 km from Casablanca and about 70 km before Chefchaouen. A stop there costs almost no detour, about 2 minutes.

Meknès and Volubilis are not on this road: going by either adds about 1 h 20 of driving, plus the visit. Meknès has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996, and the Roman ruins of Volubilis since 1997. If you want one of them, the drive becomes a long day: leave early, or split the trip with a night in Meknès or Fès.

Arriving in Chefchaouen

Chefchaouen was founded in 1471. Its medina, known for its blue-washed walls, is a pedestrian zone of stairs and lanes: cars stop at the edge, in the car parks around the old town. Your driver takes you as near your riad as a car can go and helps with the bags to the nearest point; many riads send someone to meet you there. Give us the name of your riad and we tell you where to meet.

Chefchaouen is not a World Heritage Site. The blue is explained in several ways, and no single story is agreed.

The drive back costs the same. Choose "Chefchaouen → Casablanca" at the top of the form, and give the address in Casablanca where you are going.

Flying out of Mohammed V? Count about 5 h 30 from Chefchaouen to the departures hall, then add the time your airline asks you to be at the airport. We agree the pickup time with you when we confirm the booking.

A long drive: what to expect

This is the longest of our drives from Casablanca. Plan a stop for a coffee and a stretch, and ask for more if you need them. The motorway service areas have cafés and toilets, and lunch on the road is easy to arrange: tell your driver what you like. An early start gets you there in daylight.
